Because you CAN win friends with salad!

As a child, I was very weary of leafy greens and I detested tomatoes and even nuts and fruits were to be avoided as much as possible, unless they were part of a banana split. Now here I am at the brink of 25, finally old enough to realize the beauty that can be found in a simple salad. From a simple blue cheese wedge to a veggie chik'n casear to my specialized antipasti salad, I enjoy finding new ways to liven up that potentially healthiest of dishes - the salad.

While I love salads, I don't always remember to eat them. And so, I've created this blog as a way of keeping up with my salad intake. I'll be posting recipes and pictures of the salads I create, as well as using recipes I find online to make salads. This was all inspired in part by a recent article in the New York Times by The Minimalist, who published 101 simple salad recipes. I thought, why don't I try them all out and see how they are? Granted, as a vegetarian, I would have to alter some of the later salads, but that's just another welcome challenge in my book. However, I decided that instead I wouldn't bind myself to just that and so i'll be taking recipes from various places (always giving credit where credit is due.) I'll also post any kind of salad-related websites, blogs, and news stories that I find.

Hope you enjoy!
